the book i'm reading, hazing meri sugarman, it's a book about this girl, Cindy Bixby, that lived through a terrible high school life and she wants to change that when she goes to college. so her plan to be "cool" in college includes joining a sorority, Alpha Beta Delta, which is where her mother went and was actually president. everything is supposed to go perfect, but the current president of Alpha Beta Delta, Meri Sugarman, tortures pledgers by making them do crazy things. Cindy doesn't like this because Meri is unfair, so Cindy gets kicked out and she decides to fight against Meri since nobody else will. In the end, Cindy defeats Meri with the help of her friends and is invited back to the house.
this story reminds me of the movie, Sydney White. in this movie, Sydney goes to college and joins a sorority and her mother was president of that too. the current president of this sorority is mean too, and she hates sydney. so sydney gets kicked out of the house and she has no where else to go but she finds a place and makes new friends that help her. they go against the evil president and win, since everyone is sick and tired of her. this movie is so much alike to hazing meri sugarman, and i thought of this movie right after i finished the book.
