draw connections between Santiago's journey and other journeys

santiago's journey to finding his personal legend has been very interesting throughout the book. he's learned a lot of things and overcame many obstacles. he's learned about omens, alchemy, the soul of the world, the language of the world, he's found love and managed to make a few friends along the way.

santiago's journey reminds me of spy kids 3 (it's an awesome movie because bobby edner was in it. ;P) when the secret agent went into the game to try to stop the toymaker and shut down the game, he had to play the game also to get to the final level. his obstacles included learning the way of the game, avoiding hackers, advancing levels, maintaining his own lives, and sacrificing young love.

the connections between the two journeys are that they both make friends along the way, Santiago is guided by the alchemist while agent cortez is guided by the other agents, in the end santiago has to fight the decision of whether he should leave the oasis or not and secret agent cortez has to fight the evil robots released by the toymaker.
